So this month is Torquere’s 11th Anniversary. WOO HOOOOO 😀
They asked the authors to blog/tweet/whatnot about their first experience with Torquere. So here goes….
I am blessed to call Torquere home because they were the first publisher to give me a chance when they said yes to my short story A Watched Demon Always Boils. I got my start with them and I will be forever grateful for that. I chose them because I had been reading their books for years *coughSeanMichael’sJarheadscough* So you could probably say that I might have been overly excited when I got that ‘yes’ email. Because the same place that published some of my FAVORITE books would be publishing ME!
I couldn’t have asked for a nicer, friendlier first time publisher.
Happy Anniversary Torquere!
P.S. For those of you interested in A Watched Demon Always Boils, unfortunately it’s no longer available. The rights have reverted back to me and I’m looking at options. I’ll keep you posted. (I might also be working on a novel-length sequel)
Promised I would get back to you all today. Sorry for the lateness, had some RL freakouts going on…things are better for the moment LOL. Anyway…I HAVE A RELEASE DATE! WOO HOOOOO
Cast the First Stone will be coming out from Torquere on October 8th!
Here is the unofficial blurb:
Julian Hart is a werewolf hunter. The murder of his parents at the claws of a pair of rogue werewolves left him as guardian to his younger sister, Zoe. Grief and rage drove him to become a hunter and prevent other families from suffering the same fate. His latest hunt leads him right into Alpha Stone’s territory, where his sister was turned against her will.
Werewolf protocol demands that he ask for permission before entering Stone’s territory and continuing his hunt. That leaves Julian with an unwanted entourage and fighting an attraction to a man he shouldn’t crave.
With Alpha Stone’s people dogging his every step and Julian resisting his desire for the very man he’s supposed to hate, his hunt uncovers secrets hidden within lies and a plot for vengeance that no one saw coming.
When the smoke clears, what Julian finds at the end of the trail will forever change his life and the lives of everyone he holds dear.
And of course, here’s the cover again:
I hope to do a blog tour and maybe a giveaway or two around the release date. I’ll have more info and links when it/they become available.
Until then, have a great weekend!
I debated long and hard about posting today and what exactly I would post about. I originally thought it would just be the blurb, cover, and release date for my novella from Torquere. But then I spent almost 90 minutes at the gym this morning and most of the televisions were showing footage from the 9/11 Memorial services in New York, Washington D.C., and Shanksville, PA. And I thought, I can’t post about my new release as if I don’t even know what today is. But then I thought, those terrorists wanted to kill what makes this country so great. OUR FREEDOM. MY freedom to write about something that in some countries is punishable by death. Love between two men. Because that’s what I wrote, a love story, that just happens to be about two men.
9/11 wasn’t just an American tragedy. There were FIFTY-ONE other countries that lost people that day. Three hundred and seventy three foreign nationals were killed making up twelve percent of the loss of life that day.
So let’s take a moment and remember all those people who lost their lives thirteen years ago today.
My heart goes out to the families of all the victims of 9/11.
I’ll post my unofficial blurb, cover art, and release date tomorrow.
HA HA so last week, I was buried in edits and parental visits /o\ and posting didn’t happen. *fingers crossed* that from now on posting will be more regular.
And to celebrate that, I have ANOTHER cover reveal. This is for my novella Cast The First Stone coming out from Torquere this fall!. Cover artist credit goes to Anne Squires. I think she did a beautiful job! The brief premise for this one is a hunter that falls for shifter while chasing down a rogue werewolf. I’ll have more when I get the official blurb settled.
Next week: The blurb for Fixing the Hole 😀
Thanks everyone and have a great weekend!
